Ten years ago everybody wanted to “start doing AI”

Ten years ago everybody kept coming at me with “we need to start doing AI”.
And I remember saying: but what do you mean start doing AI? AI is just a bunch of if-this-then-thats written together.
From that to experimenting with AI, to working with AI, to building AI-native and AI-enabled. Nobody had ever asked me how that happened. Until Ave did, on Girls who Prompt.
In hindsight, it was bound to happen. I have such a strong urge to understand how things work and then build them. And this is what AI offers me.
I started pulling the thread of what AI means for product development four years ago. Last year I dove into vibe coding. It’s been a rabbit hole, and I have not come up for air since.
A couple of weeks ago I had promised my developer bug tickets. And the walking chaos that I am some of the days, I had forgotten. So I gave Claude the specification and documentation and asked it to click through everything. It found 27. I found 9. Only some of them overlapped.
But AI knows the most generic version of the generic versions. Not the nitty-gritty and the niche stuff, which is where the magic happens.
Ave has such a wonderful way of asking questions that this is the version of my story not even I have heard in its full capacity.
And now I’m her co-host for Season 2. I’m almost intimidated, but I’m super excited to see what’s to come. 🧡
